This was one of the first collages Maureen produced after we moved to Mullion.  Maureen's own brief description follows...

 "This collage is based on the large terraced garden in front of our house which steps down in a series of wide grassy lawns, flower beds and ponds, to the coastal footpath and the great shining sea of Mounts Bay. We are unbelievably lucky to have this amazing view.

 When making a collage I first paint watercolour paper with artist's acrylics, and I enjoy freely creating a variety of painterly effects and textures as well as blocks of colour. The painted paper is cut into shape with a scalpel and scissors. My collages build quite slowly because the layers and sequencing of paper must be carefully planned. The finished collage is subtly three dimensional, but this effect translates surprisingly well into the two dimensional giclee fine art print."
